Much of my work has been influenced by my combined interests of fauna/flora and their natural forms, graphic communication and pop art. My series of Tree images was the first to explore this union. I am fascinated by the variety of tree forms that exist and set out to illustrate this by using silhouettes.
Silhouettes are the epitome of graphic imagery, my challenge was to illustrate and communicate everyday objects simply and effectively. My knowledge and research of colour is equally important and I have exercised this
in my various bodies of work.
My bird series is yet another demonstration of how powerful the combination of colour and simple form can be. Art and imagery does not have to be complex and the most successful items today are the most minimal and striking by design.
